Obituary

On February 25, 2022, Allen Robert Pelarski, age 49, of Manistee was granted his wish of peace after having struggled many months with an unknown illness.

He was born on April 27, 1972 in Manistee, Michigan, son of Robert and Eileen (Gielczyk) Pelarski of Manistee.  He graduated with the Manistee Catholic Central class of 1990 and then earned an Associate Degree in Marketing from West Shore Community College in 1992.  Al worked at several places in Manistee since high school and jokingly closed them all down: Eberhard's, Kmart, Custom Packaging Systems and lastly Save A Lot.

Al was an avid book reader, collector of his favorite movies, teams and music and a video game player.  He enjoyed riding his scooter and going to see every movie that came out.

He is survived by his mother Eileen Pelarski and sister and brother-in-law, Sherri and William Ely.  Several aunts, uncles and cousins survive him.

Al was preceded in death by his father Robert Pelarski, maternal grandparents Sylvester and Irene (Smith) Gielczyk and paternal grandparents Ted and Gertrude (Marquardt) Pelarski.

According to Al's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee with Mark O'Brien Spiritual Care Advisor for Hospice of Michigan officiating.  The family will be receiving family and friends at the funeral home on Thursday morning, one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Vogue Theater of Manistee where Al had enjoyed movies and also volunteered as usher.

The Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements.
