Angeline C. Morong, age 91, lifelong resident of Free Soil, Michigan, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, March 29, 2016 at Oakview Medical Care Facility in Ludington, MI.

Angeline was born on July 31, 1924, in Chicago and moved to Free Soil as a young child. She was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Celuch) Vercek. She attended Darr School in Free Soil and was a communicant of St. John Cantius Church.

On August 31, 1946, Angeline married George Morong, and they were married for nearly 65 years until George's passing in 2011. Angeline enjoyed living on the farm, managing the dairy business, caring for animals, gardening and cooking for her family.

Angeline is survived by her children, Robert Morong, and Janice (Mark) Tatrow; four grandchildren, Angela Speer, Brian and Jenn Tatrow, and Robyn Stanley; great-grandsons Gavin and Wesley Speer, and Caleb Stanley. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George, and infant daughter, Jean; her brothers, John (Bertha) Bazarnik and Joseph Bazarnik, and sisters, Marie Chansky and Eunice Tyler.

Mass from The Order of Christian Funerals for Mrs. Morong will be celebrated at 12 noon on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at St John Cantius Church in Free Soil, with Reverend Dennis O'Donnell celebrant. Burial will follow at the St. John Cantius Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to her funeral Mass on Saturday where family will be present to receive friends.
