Barbara Ann
Forman
Jul 4, 1960 — Jul 9, 2021
Barbara Ann Forman age 61, passed away July 9 th , 2021 after battling with renal failure.
She was born July 4 th , 1960 in Albion Michigan to Frank Nash and Emelia Iler. Her foster parents Marshall and Becky Holmes in the Traverse City, Michigan area continued to be a part of her life throughout its entirety. Barb worked hard along with her best friend, Joetta, and together in the early 90's finally achieved her long-time goal of graduating with her diploma. She was a member of the Bear Lake High School Adult Education class of 1996.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents Frank and Emelia, and one brother Alvin Iler. Surviving are three sisters, Deanna Brooks (Bob) of Manistee, Michigan; Cathy Smith (Roger) of Litchfield, Michigan; Linda of New York and one brother David also of New York, and multiple nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the true love of her life John Dahlgren of Manistee, Michigan and their only child, her pride and joy; Jessica Dahlgren (Jason), of Redmond, Washington.
Gatherings with family and friends for any occasion were the highlight of her year. She loved to plan them with all the details just right it didn't matter if it was for a cooking party or a wedding, she loved them all. Celebrating the holidays with her very best friend Joetta Simmons of Manistee, Michigan and her Daughter Jessica Culbertson (Duane) and their daughter Madison was of utmost importance to her. She most looked forward to planning Madison's birthday party every year in August.
Helping others was also something that brought Barb great joy, even when she didn't have something, she would find a way to help someone else. She was always the person to say yes to volunteer for an event or cause, over the years she worked many hours with Five CAP, Inc. in the office, Walk for Warmth, and Food Distributions. She also volunteered with various fraternal organizations in the Manistee area throughout the years including the Moose Lodge, American Legion, Eagles, and even the VFW. She was a very social person and being part of these great organizations was very self-fulfilling for her.
There will be a celebration of life in the fall for family and friends to share in laughter and reminisce of Barb. An exact date and time will be later communicated.
Herbert Funeral Home is overseeing arrangements. In lieu of flowers those wishing to remember Barb may send contributions in her name to Herbert Funeral Home, a fund is being established in her name to help those in need entitled The Panda Pantry.
