Bennie Joseph Masty age 88 of Manistee, Michigan, died Wednesday morning, May 20, 2015 at the Hillcrest Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility in Muskegon, MI.
He was born on March 21, 1927 in Stronach, Michigan son of the late Joseph and Mary (Terpak) Masty. He served in the United States Army during World War II from November 4, 1945 until April 9, 1947. Bennie married Florence M. Maczinski on July 1, 1950 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Manistee. They have almost celebrated over 65 years of marriage. He was employed for 38 years at the Brunswick Company in Muskegon, until his retirement in 1989. Bennie was a family man but also found time to enjoy fishing, hunting, traveling and tinkering around and could almost fix anything.

He is survived by his wife Florence M. Masty of Manistee, two daughters and one son in-law, Carol Six of Montague and Roxsanne and Terry Johnson of Muskegon, five grandchildren; Jim and Beverly Six, Terry and Joy Puffer, Clint and SvetLana Puffer, Suzette and Leman Bevis and Nichole Hunter and nine great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

Funeral Services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening May 26, 2015 at the Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee with Rev. Chet Collins officiating. Cremation will follow.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
