Bernard E. Chapple age 78 of Manistee, Michigan died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Green Acres Retirement Home in Manistee.

He was born on February 12, 1938 in Grand Rapids, Michigan son of Beverly and Helen (Beverwyck) Chapple. He was a graduate of Lee High School in Grand Rapids and then attended Ferris State University and received his bachelor's degree in business administration. Bernie married Judy Olszewski on November 26, 1976 in Redford Township Michigan. All of his working career he was employed with the Ford Motor Company until his retirement in 1998, when they moved to Manistee to make their home. Bernie loved model railroading, playing golf, fishing, and reading about WWII and the Civil War.
He is survived by his wife Judy Chapple of Manistee, MI, two sons Cameron Allen Chapple and David Eric Chapple, one brother and sister in-law, Edmund "Fritz" & Karen Chapple and one sister & brother-in-law, Marsha & Robert Royer. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.

Funeral Services will be held Monday December 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee with burial to take place in the spring of 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery also in Manistee. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning one hour prior to the funeral service

Memorials have been established in Bernie's name for Hospice of Michigan and Manistee Catholic Central Schools. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
