Darlene J. Oleniczak age 81 of Manistee, Michigan died very peacefully at her home unexpectedly on Sunday, September 4, 2016.

She was born on January 24, 1935 in Manistee, Michigan daughter of the late Alvin and Ruth (Schuelke) Miester. Darlene was a wonderful mother and friend to her children she was a hardworking woman and an excellent cook. Darlene enjoyed bowling with the area bowling leagues in her younger years.

She is survived by her children; Connie Cota, Daniel Oleniczak, Deanna (Robert) Felke, James (Randee) Oleniczak, Kelly Brandis. Rick (Aimee) Oleniczak, numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren, her sister Gayle (Ed) Harthun, 3 sisters-in-law, Cathy Miester, Kathleen Avery and Lynn (Dennis) Herkelrath, her brother-in-law, Robert Steinberg and aunt Gerry Smith.

She was preceded in death by a brother Robert Miester, her longtime partner, Max Batterson, and her children's father, Daniel Oleniczak.

According to Darlene's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday September 10, 2016 at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee with Reverend Scott Lawler officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery also of Manistee. The family will be at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. to receive friends.
