Deborah Joy Jacobs, 76, of Manistee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, surrounded by the love and memories of a life well lived.

Debbie was truly one of a kind — the kind of woman who could light up a room with her laughter, strike up a conversation with anyone, and break into song at just about any moment. Whether you knew her for years or only for a few minutes, chances are you walked away smiling.

A hardworking woman through and through, Debbie spent her life juggling many jobs — and sometimes more than one at a time — always doing whatever needed to be done for the people she loved. But no matter how busy life became, she never lost her sense of humor, her love of music, or her ability to make every gathering feel like a celebration.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, whom she loved dearly, her sister Renee Stokes (Jensen) and her brother Don Tomaszewski. She is survived by her brothers Eric Jensen, Tom and Randy Tomaszewski and her sister, Brooke Lee (Tomaszewski)

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her four children, Jan Dulaney, Ann (Mike) Wilkosz, Greg (Ruth) Jacobs, Shawn (LaDonna) Jacobs, and thirteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her spirit, stories, songs, and laughter with them forever.

Debbie will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her enormous heart, and her joyful personality that could turn any ordinary day into a party.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30th, at Calvary Baptist Church, 985 Wall Street, East Lake at 11:00am. The family will be at the church one hour prior to the service to receive friends. A Luncheon  and time of fellowship will be held at noon at the V.F.W. Walsh Post #4499 of 1211 28th Street in Manistee.  The Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of arrangements.
