Dennis was born on December 15, 1949 in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Donald and Elizabeth (Streamer) Fisher. He moved with his family to Manistee in his freshman year. He graduated from Manistee High School with the class of 1968 and Ferris State College in 1972 with a degree in Business Administration. On September 23, 1972 he married Susan Johnson at the First Congregational Church in Manistee.
Dennis began his career working for Tempo stores in Sault Ste Marie and Fond Du Lac Wisconsin. He served his country in the United States Army from 1975 to 1978. Following the army, he worked for DeLuxe Check printers in Milwaukee and Chicago for 25 years, retiring in 2003.
Dennis loved hunting, fishing, golf and softball. He helped coach his son's baseball teams and was a member of the Hoffman Estates Youth Baseball Association. He loved watching his son play hockey and spending time teaching fishing to his boys, grandsons, nieces and nephews. He always said that he was so happy that he and Sue moved back to Manistee after her retirement in 2019. He spent time hunting, fishing, golfing and being a volunteer at the Vogue Theater. He joined the Manistee Senior Softball team and loved playing ball again. When he could no longer play ball, he became the team's stats and scorekeeper and wouldn't miss a game. You could also find him hanging out at the Gold & Silver Shop. He loved spending time with family and friends, and developed many close friendships.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Susan Fisher, four sons & daughters-in-law, Ryan & Pamela Fisher of Metairie, LA, Michael & Dede Fisher of Willis, TX, Corey & Kelsey Fisher of Manistee, MI and Andrew Fisher (fiancé Emily Vermillion) of Hanover Park, IL, his grandsons Hunter Fisher of Willis, TX and Peter Perez of TX, brother David Fisher of Centralia, WA and brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Denis & Emmy Johnson of Manistee, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
