Dorothy Marie (Cabot) Schindler, age 80 of Bear Lake, Michigan died Thursday morning, January 24, 2019 at the Green Acres Assisted Living in Manistee.

She was born on March 31, 1938 in Manistee, Michigan daughter of the late Stanley & Marie (Wresinski) Cabot. Dorothy married Charles "C.G." Schindler on October 7, 1961 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2017. She was employed as a Registered Nurse with the Manistee County Health Department up until her retirement. Dorothy was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish of Manistee (St. Mary of Mount Carmel Shrine Church).

She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law: Jeffrey & Kristy Schindler of Scottville, MI, her granddaughter Emma Jancek of Scottville, MI, her sister & brother-in-law; Renee & Partick Offerman and their children Emilie and Nathan Offerman all of Brownstown, MI. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C.G. Schindler, her parents, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ronald Cabot and Philip & Jean Cabot.

Cremation has taken place and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend Pablo Martinez celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Manistee.

A Vigil Service will be prayed on Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee, where the family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday morning one hour prior to her funeral Mass.
