Genevieve M. Steinberg age 96 of Manistee, Michigan died peacefully at her home on Saturday morning, September 16, 2017 surrounded by her daughters. She was born on August 20, 1921 in Manistee, Michigan daughter of the late Joseph and Lucille (Thomas) Toczynski. Genevieve married Alphonse "Al" Steinberg on June 4, 1947 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1996. She devoted most of her life to being a wife and mother to her husband and children and their families.

She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish of Manistee, (Guardian Angels Catholic Church Church). She enjoyed reading as one of her favorite past times.

She is survived by five daughters and one son in-law; Marie Steinberg, Ann Steinberg, Janet Steinberg, Susan Steinberg and Carol and Thomas Shively, three grandchildren; Milissa and Andrew Gentz and Andrew and Aaron Shively all of Manistee, One sister Evelyn Steinberg of Brethren, MI. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alphonse "Al" Steinberg on October 23, 1996, and her brother Floyd A. Toczynski on June 21, 2011, two nieces, Marilyn Aldrich on August 11, 1990 and Marianne Kubacki on July 5, 2000.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend Pablo Martinez Celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery also in Manistee.

The family will receive friends at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 PM where the Rosary will be prayed for family and friends at 8:00 PM led by her niece Barbara Perri.
