Obituary

George Alan Gielczyk age 64 of Manistee, Michigan died Sunday, May 2, 2021 at his home unexpectedly.

He was born on February 22, 1957 in Manistee, Michigan son of the late Richard "Spook" and Olga (Siakel) Gielczyk. George was a graduate of Manistee Catholic Central High School with the class of 1975. George was always a good athlete when he was growing up, especially in baseball. In his younger days playing little league and Legion baseball. Later on, he took his talents to Manistee Catholic Central, playing baseball and excelling on the football field, as well. George and his older brothers did dislike giving up some of their summer ball playing time, to maintain the family Christmas Tree Farm, until the rewards of the sales of those trees increased the value of their allowance. George was also a small business owner of the T & B Market, that for over thirty years, served the residents in Filer City and Oak Hill, as well as the numerous employees of P.C.A. and Tondu. He also took his dry wit and humor to the patrons of the Parkdale Wesco, for a period of time. Upon his retirement George enjoyed an occasional soiree up to the Little River Casino, to partake in a game of chance and perhaps a cold "Toddy"!!

He is survived by two brothers, Michael Gielczyk and Paul Gielczyk both of Manistee, two nieces, Jackie Gielczyk and Jennifer and Carl Jans and their children, Christopher Gielczyk, Nathan Jans and Kari Jans all of Manistee. Numerous cousins also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Olga Gielczyk. His sister Debra Gielczyk and by his two brothers, Patrick "Bubba" Gielczyk and Randall "Reggie" Gielczyk.
