Grace I. Sciba, age 96 of Manistee, MI died Monday, February 17, 2020 at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility in Manistee.
She was born on April 11, 1923in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late Robert & Mabel (Jensen) Rogers. Grace married Gordon C. Sciba on February 9, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee, Michigan. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on February 11, 2007. He preceded her in death October 7, 2007. Grace loved to bake and cook, was an avid reader and loved crocheting. She made many afghan's for family and friends. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish of Manistee, Michigan.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law: Connie Sciba and Linda & Steve Shively all of Manistee, Sandra & Winston Fulcher of New Port, North Carolina, three grandchildren: Kelly Kott, Keith Partridge both of Manistee and Cindy & Bobby Weeks of New Port, North Carolina and nine great grandchildren: Crystal, Gracie, Blake, Nicholas, Jenny, Jackie, Katie, Trenton & Hayley, eight great-great grandchildren, four sisters & one brother-in-law: Thelma Gregg of Ann Arbor, MI, Shirley Gutowski, Jane Fortier both of Manistee, MI & Jean and Donald Cameron of Freesoil, MI. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her great- great grandson Hunter, her sister and brother in-law, Sarah and Anthony Slawinski, and her two brothers and a sister-in-law: Jack Rogers and Robert "Bud" & Shirley Rogers, three brothers-in-law, Percy Fortier, Chuck Gregg, Richard Gutowski .
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend Zeljko Guberovic celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Manistee. The family will receive friends at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until leaving for the church at 11:15 AM.
