Jack Robert Rutherford, 84, of Manistee, passed away at home on July 21, 2022.  Jack was born on April 25, 1938 in Carrollton, Michigan to James & Myrtle (Thornton) Rutherford.  Jack was one of 5 children.

Jack married Vera Barker while he was serving in the US Air Force at Brize Norton Air Base, Carterton, England.  They moved back to Michigan where Jack's family lived and together, they raised five children: James, Daniel, Richard, Julie and Heather.  Jack was the owner and operator of Action Termite & Pest Control which he started in 1986.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife Vera, his parents and brothers James and Roger.   Jack is survived by sons James (Melanie) Rutherford, Daniel (Diana) Rutherford, Richard Rutherford, and daughters Julie (Michael) Feliczak, and Heather (Jeffrey) Pefley; grandchildren Tristyn Rutherford, Alex Rutherford, Katie (Jeremiah) Fruk, Eric Rutherford, Justin Rutherford, Joseph Linke (Mike Eldersveld), Kayla Linke, Taylor Pietrasik, Zachary Pietrasik and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Pat (Robert) Flathau, brother Warren (Judy) Rutherford as well as many close extended family members and friends.

His family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Green Acres in Manistee as well as the staff at Munson Healthcare Hospice for their care and support during Jack's last days.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee.
