Janet K. (Bauman) Turk age 79, of Manistee, Michigan, died Friday, December 10, 2021 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with her daughters by her side.

She was born on March 24, 1942 in Cadillac, Michigan daughter of the late James H. and Clara J. (Zielinski) Bauman. Janet was a graduate of Saint Joseph High School with the class of 1960.   Janet married Howard Carl Turk on June 9, 1962 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. He preceded her in death on May 13, 2020. Janet had been employed at the Glen of Michigan and later with the Harvest Table Restaurant and until her retirement in 2003 with the 440 West Restaurant all in Manistee. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish of Manistee (St. Mary of Mount Carmel Shrine).  Along with her husband, Howard, Janet enjoyed dealing in antiques and attending yard sales and flea markets.

She is survived by, three daughters and a son in-law, Mary and Bill Hanson of Manistee, Julie Holm of Seymour, TN, Sandra Johnson of Manistee, eight grandchildren, Janelle, Ryan, Abby, Stephanie, Daniel, Hayden, Tracy and Alicia and her seven great-grandchildren, and her brother and sister in-law, Richard and Linda Bauman of Manistee. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

Janet was also preceded in death by her brother Michael J. Bauman.

According to Janet's wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services with burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery will take place at a later date.
