Obituary

Beloved son, brother and partner Jerry J. Smith passed away on November 16, 2015.

Jerry was born in Manistee, the son of his beloved mother Dawn (Nelson) and father Robert Smith both who preceded him in death. Jerry graduated from Manistee High School. Later he worked several jobs, but is most remembered for his time as manager of MTA Travel where he became the founding father of the Victorian Sleighbell Parade.

Some of his many interests include the theater, acting, music and singing (which I'm sure half of Manistee has heard) and Manistee in general along with being with Jim, friends and family and whoever else showed up at his beloved Pabst Building and Garden Roof.

Jerry is survived by his soulmate forever Jim Pawlowski, brother & sister-in-law Skip and Belinda (Springborn) Smith, nephews Jesse Smith and Joshua Smith and special friend Beth all of Manistee, Jims sons Matt, Pete and Pat Pawlowski and so many friends that there's no way to list them all. Jerry will be missed by many.

Per Jerry's wishes, there will be no services but Jim would like to have this year's Victorian Sleighbell Parade party at the Pabst Building in his honor.

Memorial contributions may be directed to either the Manistee County Historical Museum or to Jim Pawlowski so he can continue Jerry's dream of restoring the Pabst Building and downtown Manistee.

The Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements.
