John Edward Franklin, age 82 of Onekama, Michigan died Friday October 21, 2016 in Frankfort, Michigan.

He was born on May 25, 1934 in Ludington, Michigan son of the late John E. and Veronica M. (Paulukaitis) Franklin. John served our country in the U.S. Coast Guard and in his lifetime he enjoyed being around airplanes and attained his degree in Aeronautical Engineering and was a Certified Commercial Flight Instructor. John was a very private man and his faith and spirituality were very important to him.

He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law: John & Rikki Franklin of Bellevue, NE and one sister, Mae Bond of Manistee, MI
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Harvey Bond.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Victory Trinity Lutheran Church on 3208 West Victory Drive in Ludington with Pastor Bill Huether officiating. The family will be at the church one hour prior to his Memorial Service to receive friends.
