Joseph E. Beatty, age 86 of Manistee, MI passed away peacefully on Monday, October 10, 2022 at his home.

He was born on February 16, 1936 in Fort Wayne, Indiana son of the late John J. & Virginia (Hamilton) Beatty.  On March 17 1979 Joe married Alice (Veine) Harper.  He was employed with Iron Works of Manistee and then went on to work for the City of Manistee with the Police Department, being the first 911 dispatcher in Manistee, the Fire Department and also the Street Department.

Joe loved family and also enjoyed cooking, golf, hunting, woodworking and was an active member of numerous social clubs.

He is survived by his wife Alice (Veine) Beatty, his children John Beatty & wife Sylvia Beatty (Marquez), Jacqueline Kreuz (Beatty), Kimberly Gray (Beatty) & husband Phillip Gray, Jennifer Borgman (Beatty) & husband Scott Borgman, Joey Beatty, Joseph Harper, Lucy Haught (Beatty) & husband Jason Haught, Jeremiah Harper & wife April Harper (Reyes).  Many grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive him.

Cremation has taken place and Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee with Reverend Zeljko Guberovic officiating. The family will be at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday to receive friends.

In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be directed toward the family for final funeral expenses.
