Obituary

Judith G. Haag, age 80 of Bear Lake, Michigan died peacefully on March 17, 2025 at Maple Ridge Manor of Manistee. She was born March 22, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Stanley F. & Bernardine (Buraczewski) Oziminski.
She was a graduate of Taft High School in Chicago, Class of 1962. She then attended Bradley University and studied education. It was there where she met her soul–mate and future husband.
Judy married Howard E. Haag on June 18, 1966 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Chicago, IL. Together, they co-owned Coho Bend Campground and Northwind Sports of Manistee.
Judy enjoyed spending time with family, attending her grandchildren's sporting and music events, being supportive of their efforts and celebratory in recognizing their accomplishments. Her interests also included appreciation for a variety of music, fine arts and nature. She enjoyed attending concerts and supporting events at Interlochen Center for the Arts. She actively enjoyed boating, fishing and kayaking on Bear Lake. She treasured time spent with her grandkids at Bear Lake Days where evenings ended with bonfires and fireworks. She had a contagious sense of humor which was truly appreciated by her entire family. She loved traveling and was fond of ski trips to Colorado, spending time in Scandinavia and Canada and venturing to warmer climates in winters. Judy's nurturing compassion and sense of responsibility was also reflected in the community where she taught and volunteered at Manistee Middle School for many years. She most recently volunteered at Benzie Area Christian Neighbors. Her gentle and considerate nature also branched out to include her love for animals; always being a pet owner. She was a faithful fan of Michigan State University basketball, watching every Spartan game.
She is survived by her husband Howard Haag, of Bear Lake, MI; 3 Sons, Jeff Haag, Bryan (Sara Mey) Haag, Jason (Carolyn) Haag; 1 daughter, Heather Johnson; 10 grandchildren: Kathryn, Margaret, Eric, Amelia, Annika, Georgia, Courtney, Trevor, Kevin and Kyle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Sharon Oziminski.
