Keith Roger Harland, age 80, of Freesoil, MI died peacefully at his home Wednesday morning, May 22, 2024.  He was born May 18, 1944 on the family farm in Applegate, MI and was the son of the late William Stanley & Priscilla Marguerite (Ross) Harland.

Keith was the owner and operator of Harland's Sanitary Landfill of Manistee until 1994 and then pursued other business interests in Louisiana up until 2012 when he returned back to Northern Michigan and his roots of farming until his death.

He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Todd & Susie Harland; 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Sherry Elliott and Christina & Kory Richard; 6 grandchildren, Dawn (Ken) Leonard, Remington Elliott, Hannah, Haley and Harrison Harland and Leola Richard and 3 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Charlie and Adelyn Leonard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Leo and Virgil Harland and 1 son-in-law, Raymond Elliott.

According to his wishes, Keith will be interred next to his parents at Steckley Cemetery in Applegate, MI where a private family graveside service will take place.

Keith was a strong advocate and lifelong donor of St. Jude's Children's Hospital and St. Labre Indian School of Montana.  Those wishing to remember Keith and express their sympathies in his honor may consider a memorial donation to either of Keith's esteemed organizations.
