Kenneth
Schweitzer
Jul 21, 1950 — Mar 16, 2022
Kenneth Lee Schweitzer, 71, of Manistee tragically passed away March, 16th 2022.
Ken was born on June 21, 1950 to Betty and Clarence Schultz. After graduating from Manistee High school in 1969, he served in the US Army and did a tour in Vietnam. Upon his return home he began his life long career at Morton salt where he worked until retirement.
Ken had a great number of hobbies and interests throughout his life. He was a lover of animals especially his cats. He was an avid reader and history buff, collector of many things from crystals to coins, he loved fishing, hunting, football and baseball. He was passionate about photography, gardening, and woodworking and he sold many beautiful pieces at local craft shows throughout the years. He had the gift of gab and could light up any room with his smile and he could debate politics with the best on them and if you were smart you wouldn't go down that road with him. Above all else he enjoyed spending time with his loved ones especially his son Kyle and grandson Leon, his pride and joys.
Ken was proceeded in death by his mother, father, and brother Wayne.
He is survived by his brothers Clarence Jr. and Rick Schultz, his children Rob Adams and Leila Rayes, Terra and Sherman Stewart, Kyle and Jessica Schweitzer and his fur babies, his ex-wife and friend Marilyn Schweitzer, grandchildren Adria and Brett, Brett, Brandon, Savannah, Anessa, Niklaus, Lillith, Leon, and the newest addition about to meet the world, Leif Jeffrey. His family in love Marlene Harrand, Thomas, Jason, Ethan, Theodore, and his special buddy Breckin.
A celebration of life will be held on June 18, 2022 at the V.F.W. Hall in Manistee in the meeting room from 2pm to 6pm to celebrate Father's Day, dad's birthday, and share our great memories of a wonderful man. We would love for all his friends and family to be with us to honor and celebrate his beautiful life.
The Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements.
