Obituary

Kimberly (Kim) Ann Hawkins was born on June 21, 1956, in Cass City Michigan. She began her life in Caro, Michigan and graduated from Caro High School. On July 18, 1981, she married the love of her life and together they ventured though life living in Cadillac, Hershey and finally planting roots in Mesick where together they raised their two boys. Finally, they followed their grandkids to Manistee where she passed away on January 5 th , 2023. Although she was only feeling sick for about a week, her long history of asthma caused her heart to stop and despite an amazing effort by Dr. Robinson and all of Munson staff she was unable to be revived.

Kim was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She also had a career working as an EMT in Caro and as a medical assistant in Buckley. Kim was also the first female police office in Caro. Kim loved her cats as well as cooking and baking with her grandkids. She spent most of her life as an active member of the Oddfellows and Rebekah's organization. Kim was an avid game player, but she was ruthless at spoons and would willingly break a table to win. Kim also valued her education obtaining both her Bachelor and Master's degrees in criminal justice fueling her love for true crime and cold cases.

Kim is survived by her husband Jerry (Rick) Hawkins, Sons Nickolas (Erica) Hawkins and Doug (Jenn) Hawkins. Mother-in-law Dorothy Hawkins. Brothers and sisters Wayne (Tammy) Phillips, David (Shirley) Phillips, Sandy (Jerry) Vanderpool, Janelle (Dan) Dickinson, Faye (John) Miller. Brother in laws Russ (Dee) Hawkins and Jon (Deb) Hawkins. Grandkids Kaitlynn, Amelia, Emma and Maxwell. Her partner in crime Ellie (Ed) Roussain and their son Tim (Chris) Agar. Former Daughter-in-law Amanda Gardner. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and her Rebekah Fraternal Family.

Kim was preceded in death by her parents Alton and Betty Curry, her biological parents Maryann and Charles (Mary Jane) Phillips. Father-in-law Jerry Hawkins, Brothers Dick Curry and Charles Phillips and sister, Cheryl Daniels.
