Leo Joseph Nice age 57 of Manistee, MI died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at his home in Manistee.

He was born on May 1, 1961 in Manistee, Michigan, son of the late George and Marjorie (Schweitzer) Nice. Raised in Manistee, he graduated from Manistee High School. Since graduating he worked many jobs including maintenance, window installer, chairlift operator and security guard, but his all-time favorite was working alongside his brothers George and Louis on different jobs.

While growing up he met and became very close friends with the Dutkavich Family, was godfather to Mary Reid who was part of the Dutkavich Family.

Leo married Kathy Thompson in 1993. After 17 years they parted ways. To this day they remained very close friends.

Leo is survived by a sister, Mrs. Al (Elaine) Pieczynski of Eastlake, MI and his ex-wife Kathy Nice of Grand Rapids, MI, his nephew Joey Nice, and goddaughter Mary Reid and one Uncle Edward Barch of Manistee. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, also survive him.

Preceding him in death were two brothers George Nice of Pontiac, MI, Louis Nice of Jackson, MI his sister Marci Ann Nice of South Bend, Indiana, a foster brother Larry Belter and his brother-in-law Al Pieczynski of Eastlake, MI also several aunts and uncles.

According to Leo's wishes, cremation has taken place, and graveside services will be held Monday, November 12, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Manistee with Reverend Zeljko Guberovic officiating.
