Obituary

Linda Lee Defever, age 77 passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday morning, October 28, 2016 at her home in Freesoil, Michigan. She was the most wonderful Women, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother (GG). She was born on December 28, 1938 in Manistee, Michigan, the daughter of the late Archie Subjinski and Evelyn (Sobczak) Subjinski. She leaves behind a family that she was so very proud of and loved very much. She always told you the truth even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. She was genuine to a fault and tender at heart. She loved her family and her animals as much as she loved her gardens, and trust us; she loved to weed those gardens with us as her helpers. She had words of encouragement, wisdom and comfort, kept us in line, taught us the "school of hard knocks" and gave us something to pass down to our children and grandchildren. Everyone that came into our lives was always treated like family. If you were to become a part of the family, you were surely put on her Christmas list.

She will be greatly missed and survived by her loving husband, James Defever, her children, Peggy (Paul) Suits, Pam Guenther (Tim Burke), Scott (Loretta) Modjeski, Stacey Miller and Michelle (Bryan) Thomas. Step-children, Joseph (Sherri) White, James White, and Michael (Theresa) White. Grandchildren, Angie, Christopher, Erin (Paul), Robert (Jamie), Justin (Jessica), Ryan (Jessica), Cailon (Cody), Emily, Nathan, Brittan (Matt), Keagen, Jaelyn and Kylar. Step-grandchildren, Alicia, Rachel, Jimmy, Billy, Ryan, Haley, Morgan, Connor, and Jake. Her great grandchildren who lovingly called her Grandma GG, Jason, Briella, Brynleigh, Braxton, Jalen, Eleni, Brooklyn, Haley, Kira and Zailyn. Her step great grandchildren, Jordan, Brooklynn, Avery and Mackenzie. Her loving sister in-law, whom she thought of just like a sister, Shirley Psenski and brother in-law, Richard Psenski, and all of her fur babies.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and step mother, Lucille Subjinski and the father of her children, James Modjeski, all whom loved her dearly. We will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, grace, undying love and caring for each and every one of us.
