Lori J. Kolanowski age 58, of Manistee, Michigan, died Monday morning, August 6, 2018 at the Munson Hospice House in Traverse City, Michigan.

She was born on September 21, 1959 in Manistee, Michigan daughter of Caroline (Showalter) Bukowski and the late Roy Bukowski. Lori was a graduate of Manistee High School with the class of 1977.She attended Central Michigan University and received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 1981. Lori moved to Denver, Colorado where she was the K-Mary Apparel Manager, she then returned to Manistee in 1984. She was united in marriage to Timothy Kolanowski on May 14, 1983 at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Shrine Church in Manistee. She was employed by Manistee County for twenty three years, beginning as a reference librarian and then being transferred to County Register of Deeds Office and later transferred to the County Treasurer's office and then returned as the Chief Deputy Clerk at the Register of Deeds Office, until her medical retirement on September 1, 2017. Lori was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish (Guardian Angels Catholic Church) of Manistee. While raising her son, she was very active and supportive of all of his activities while he was growing up.

She is survived by her husband Timothy Kolanowski of Manistee, her son and daughter in-law; Michael and Lauren Kolanowski, her grandson; Brady Kolanowski all of Williamsburg, her mother Caroline (Showalter) Bukowski, and her sister and brother in-law; Susan and George Edmondson all of Manistee, her brother and sister in-law; Thomas and Molly Bukowski of Columbus, Ohio, her father in-law; Arthur Kolanowski of Manistee, sister in-law and brother in-law, Pamela and Brian Janowiak of Indianapolis, IN, two brothers in-law and sister in-law; Rev. Ronald Kolanowski of Storrs, CT, and Mark and Ann Kolanowski of Grand Rapids. She was known as "Aunt Lori the Great" by all the numerous nieces and nephews who also survive her.

Lori was also preceded in death by her mother in-law, Helen N. Kolanowski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend Larry Sergott celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery also in Manistee.

Relatives, friends and the members of the Knights of Columbus will pray the rosary on Friday evening at 7:30 PM at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee, where the Evening Vigil Service will also be prayed at 8:00 PM. The family will be at the funeral home on Friday, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:30 to 9:00 PM and on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of leaving for the church at 10:40 AM, to receive friends.

Those wishing to remember Lori are asked to consider the Divine Mercy Parish of Manistee, or donations to "Munson Healthcare Foundation" in honor of the Staff on C-1 to benefit Clinical Education.
