Lorraine C. Jacobson, age 67 of Free Soil, Michigan died Monday, September 4, 2017 at her home in Free Soil surrounded by her family after battling with a long illness.

She was born on January 18, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan daughter of the late Stanley & Grace (Stachnik) Mantych. She was a graduate of Henry Ford High School in Detroit with the class of 1968. She married Donald Simmons in San Francisco California. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1976. She later married Ronald H. Jacobson on September 19, 1981 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. Lorraine enjoyed spending time with her family and had a great passion for jewelry and loved following current events.

She is survived by her very devoted husband Ronald H. Jacobson of Free Soil, MI, one sister Beverly Easley of Red Bluff, CA, three nieces Nicole Easley of Walnut Creek, CA, Sara Jacobson and Nicole Jacobson both of Free Soil, MI and one nephew Kyle (Rebekah) Jacobson of Twin Lake, MI and special friends Ken & Amy Hansen of Free Soil, MI.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her sister Suzanne Stout and an infant brother Larry Mantych.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday September 12, 2017 at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Free Soil with Reverend Dennis O'Donnell celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John Cantius Cemetery also in Free Soil.

The family will be at the church on Tuesday morning one hour prior to the funeral Mass to receive friends.

A memorial has been established in Lorraine's name for Free Soil EMS. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and also at the church on Tuesday morning.

The Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements.
