Marie A. Celestino age 83, of Manistee, Michigan died Monday morning, March 2, 2015 at West Shore Medical Center in Manistee with her daughters at her side.
She was born January 21, 1932 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan daughter of the late Henry and Jennie (Martin) Lamontagne. Marie was a graduate of Sault Ste. Marie High School class of 1950. Marie married Phillip C. Celestino on September 8, 1951 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He preceded her in death on December 17, 2013. Marie was an avid gardener who especially liked to raise orchids. She also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. She was a member of the Catholic Community of Manistee (Guardian Angels Catholic Church) and an active member of the Guardian Angels Church Choir.
She is survived by two daughters, Marcia (Chuck) Pyrah and Annette Celestino (Rick Bevans) all of Manistee, three grandchildren, Brian (Jessie) Pyrah of Manistee, Aaron (Julia) Pyrah of Lusby, Maryland, and Maureen Montgomery of Manistee, five great grandchildren, Claudia, Joseph, Cecelia, Christopher and Anthony Pyrah and by one sister: Claire Fenwick of Albert Lea, MN. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband Phil.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee. Private family burial will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery on Saturday, March 7, 2015.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
