Mary Susan Doering age 66, died early Saturday morning, November 24, 2018 at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility.

She was born on September 7, 1952 in Manistee, Michigan daughter of Barbara A. (Wojciechowski) Doering and the late Robert H. Doering. She was a graduate from Manistee Catholic Central School class of 1970. After high school, she was employed within the hospitality field throughout most of her life. She was a longtime resident of Anchorage Eagle River Alaska where she received a Fine Arts Degree from the University of Alaska.  She had talent for expressing herself through unique artistic creations, often constructed with odds and ends she collected from anywhere and everywhere.

She loved animals and had an endless stream of adoptions such as her cat "peanut butter" and dog named "jelly". Living in Alaska suited her style and she begrudgingly moved back to the civilization of Manistee 3 years ago.

She is survived by her mother Barbara Doering of Manistee, MI, Three sisters Lois Doering of Manistee, MI , Judith Just of Lake Worth, FL and Lynne (Tim) Calais of Maryland Two brothers; Robert (Trish) Doering of Apple Valley, CA and James (Amy) Doering of Manistee, MI. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Doering in 1998.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend Zieljko Guberovic celebrant. Private family burial will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery also in Manistee.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday morning, one hour prior to Mary Sue's funeral Mass.
