Mary E. (Mielcarek) Steinberg, age 77, of Manistee, Michigan, died Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Provision Living at Forest Hills in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was born on October 9, 1947 in Manistee, Michigan and was the daughter of the late Edwin F. and Alberta (Volkema) Mielcarek. Mary married James L. Steinberg on October 19, 1968 at St, Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2006. In her younger years, Mary enjoyed bowling and was very active in the women's bowling league in the Manistee area. She also enjoyed reading and collecting cook books, working with arts and crafts, and she loved her cat "Hannah". Mary was also an avid Detroit Tigers Baseball fan.

Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Loren Humes of Caledonia, MI, two granddaughters, Rachel Humes and Nicole Humes both of Grand Rapids, MI.

Mary was also preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Alberta (Volkema) Mielcarek , her husband James L. Steinberg, her son Kevin Steinberg and her infant sister, Agatha Mielcarek

According to her wishes cremation has taken place and her cremated remains will be laid to rest privately, next to her husband Jim, at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Manistee. The Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements.
