Melvina M. Janicki, age 70 of Fountain, MI died peacefully, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on June 8, 1946 in Kaleva, Michigan daughter of the late Warren & Lydia (Clements) Dorn. She was a graduate of Brethren High School with the class of 1964. She married James Lee Janicki on April 24, 1965 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. She was employed at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility for 28 years, retiring in 2010. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and recently just welcomed her first great-granddaughter. She also enjoyed reading.

She is survived by her husband James L. Janicki, two sons and daughters in-law, Tony and Irene Janicki and Mike and Robin Janicki; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Mildred Hall, Julie and Jeff Miller and Waunetta Zaleski; three brothers & sisters-in-law, Russell and Cindy Dorn, Butch and Laura Dorn and Eddie and Sheryl Dorn. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Monica S. Janicki, on October 25, 2013 and her brother, Frank Dorn.

A Celebration of Melvina's Life will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and also one hour prior to her Celebration of Life on Thursday.
