Miles Chester Rhodes, age 82, died peacefully on April 24, 2017 at Manistee County Medical Care Facility. He was buried at a graveside service on April 25, 2017 at the Riverview Cemetery in Brown Township.

Miles was born in Brown Township on February 2, 1935 to Sophie (Christenson) and Chester Rhodes. He was preceded in death by brothers Edward and Edwin and sisters Odessa and Vesta.

He was a graduate of Onekama High School (Class of 1953), studied mechanical drafting in Bay City and was an ordained minister of the New Covenant Christian Church. Miles worked for many years at the Andersen, Bowling, and Lutz farms. In 1966, he married Patricia Dorman-Hicks in Norwalk. She passed away in 1977. On May 14, 1988, he married Donna-Grace Phillips Rennie.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna-Grace Rhodes (Brown Township); foster daughters Deb Guin (Grand Rapids) and Kathy Kott (Manistee); several cousins, nieces and nephews; and many caring friends and neighbors.

A memorial celebration of Miles' life will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 2:00 at the Onekama Church of the Brethren with Pastor Frances Townsend officiating.
