Nancy Jean Satal Age 70, died Tuesday Sept 21, 2021 at Portage AFC in Onekama, MI.  Born Jan 28, 1951, in Berwyn, IL to Jerome and Norma Haughton Satal, she lived in Onekama since 2012.  The family moved to Michigan in 1953 and Nancy lived in the Flint area until 1985 moving to Manistee following her parents, retirement.  Nancy was admired for her cheerful enthusiasm despite her disabilities.  She enjoyed meals, holidays and various activities she could do with her hands and had a good sense of humor.  Nancy liked people and considered everyone she met her friend.  Her laughter and beautiful smile will be missed.  Survivors include sister Mary (Bruce) Steen of Kalamazoo; nephews Joshua (Anna) Steen of MI and Zachary Steen of AZ, niece Emily (Keith) Crum of England.   Five great nieces and nephews Jackson, Robert (Robbie), Stella and Audrey Steen and Clementine Crum.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Richard Satal, step-father Thomas VanIttersum and step-brother Thomas VanIttersum II.  The family would like to extend deepest appreciation and thanks to staff of Portage AFC, who were like family to her, for the loving care, compassion and support they provided for Nancy.  We would also like to thank those at St Joseph Catholic Church of Onekama, for their visits and support.  Cremation has taken place.  Private service with family will be at Easton Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association or charity of choice.  Arrangements are being handled by Herbert Funeral Home
