Patricia Marie Carlson, age 94 of Onekama, Michigan died early Wednesday morning, April 19, 2023 at the Maples Medical Facility in Frankfort, Michigan.

She was born February 20, 1929 in Manistee, Michigan daughter of the late

George & Edna (Kwasky) Galwas. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School with the class of 1947. Patricia married Oscar L. Carlson on January 20, 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. They celebrated over 70 years of marriage together before Oscar's death on May 29, 2021. For many years she drove school bus for the Onekama Consolidated School System where she also worked as a custodian for the school system. She attended West Shore Community College and received her Registered Nursing Degree and worked at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility in Manistee up until her retirement. She enjoyed knitting, painting ceramics and loved to read.

She is survived by her daughter, Joy Marie Carlson, her son and daughter in-law, Oscar and Karen Carlson all of Manistee, three grandchildren, Kristina R. (David) Brown, and Jennifer Carlson & Dameon Rohdy all of Manistee, Jason (Tracy) Carlson of Marlton, New Jersey, five great grandchildren, Brett and Katlyn Brown, Drew and Maxx Carlson and Miriam Rohdy her sister Barbara Galwas of Manistee, MI and special friend Amber Griffis of Thompsonville, MI. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her sister's in-laws and brother's in-laws, Irene and Clint Fink and Isabelle and Paul Steffans, Charles Carlson, Darwin "Cub" and Joanne Carlson and Glen and Betty Carlson Sr.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee with Reverend Ruben Munoz officiating. Burial will follow at the Onekama Village Cemetery in Onekama, MI.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon, one hour prior to the funeral service.
