Patricia E. Fragomeli, 89, of Manistee, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at her home.
Born on July 11, 1936, in Monticello, New York, Patricia was an only child whose life would ultimately become centered around the large and deeply connected family she helped create. In 1954, she married the love of her life, Fred J. Fragomeli, beginning a partnership that would endure for fifty-three years until Fred's passing in 2007.
Between 1959 and 1969, Patricia became the devoted mother of seven children, dedicating much of her life to the care and upbringing of her family. She carried both the joys and sorrows of motherhood with quiet resilience and unwavering love throughout her life.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Fragomeli; her daughter, Lauren Beth Fragomeli, who passed away in infancy in 1963; and her daughter, Lynn Fragomeli, who passed away in 1992.
She is survived by her children Larry Fragomeli, Lisa Fragomeli, Lance Fragomeli, Lori Fragomeli, and Lane Fragomeli, along with four grandchildren, extended family members, dear friends, and many whose lives were touched by her warmth, generosity, humor, and compassionate spirit.
Patricia possessed a deep love for animals and found great meaning in volunteering with Homeward Bound Animal Shelter, reflecting the gentleness and empathy that defined her character. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, her devotion to family, her enduring Catholic faith, and the steady, pragmatic grace with which she moved through life.
Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Patricia's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend James Bearss celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery also in Manistee. At the conclusion of cemetery services, a luncheon will be provided by Zupin Catering with fellowship gathering at Divine Mercy St. Joseph Parish Center in Manistee. The Family will be at Guardian Angels Church one hour prior to the funeral Mass to receive friends.
Those wishing to honor Patricia's memory may consider a donation to Homeward Bound Animal Shelter. Envelopes will be available at the church on Thursday morning.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers, hospice staff, friends, and community members who offered support, prayers, and compassion during Patricia's final days.
Patricia's family will remember her always for her love of family, her tenderness toward animals, and the quiet dignity and perseverance that carried her through a long and meaningful life. Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements.
