Obituary

Pearl Pat Sullivan (LeVeque) was born November 27, 1955. Pearl passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2026, on a beautiful warm, sunny day.

Pearl made her home in Manistee, Michigan, where she and her husband, Gary Michael Sullivan, built their family home in 1980. Nestled back in the woods, that home reflected Pearl's love of nature and the quiet life she cherished. She remained there for decades, until recently moving in with her daughter to receive care. Gary preceded her in death, and they remained married throughout their lives together.

Pearl was the daughter of Edward L. LeVeque and Petrunia M. LeVeque. She was preceded in death by her siblings Leontine Clous, and Larry LeVeque, and is survived by her sister Martha Lawrence.

Pearl was a devoted mother to two children: Mandy Lynn Ropelewski (Sullivan), married to Michael Terry Ropelewski, and Shawn Edward Sullivan, married to Bethany Sullivan. She was a proud grandmother to Mia and Molly Ropelewski, and to Lila and Liam Sullivan.

Fiercely independent, Pearl had a true green thumb and took great pride in her plants and garden. She found peace in the woods surrounding her home and joy in a life rooted in family, creativity, and nature. She especially loved knitting, sewing, and quilting—always making things with care and love, and sharing those skills by teaching others.

A celebration of Pearl's life will be held at the Saint Joseph Parish Center on Sixth Street in Manistee, Michigan on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 12:00 Noon till 3:00 P.M. The Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements.
