Robert John Banicki, age 70 of Manistee, Michigan died Saturday morning, October 19, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on July 15, 1954 in Manistee, Michigan and was the son of the late Raymond and Marie (Jorgensen) Banicki.  Bob was a graduate of Manistee High School with the class of 1972.  He married Danielle "Dani" Tomaszewski on February 8, 1975 at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Shrine Catholic Church in Manistee. She preceded him in death this past August 2, 2024.

He retired after 20 years of employment with the Blarney Castle Oil and Propane Co.  Bob was also the owner and operator of Banicki Sandblasting.  He was well known for his welding skills and fabricating almost anything and everything.  He enjoyed spending time with his good friend Buzz, especially taking in car shows, fabricating and showing off his 1953 Chevy.  One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, taking them fishing, watching their wrestling matches and attending their football games and school events.

Bob is survived by his sons & daughters-in-law: Rob & Wendy Banicki of Eastlake, MI and Chris & Heather Banicki of Manistee, MI, his granddaughter Joey Banicki, his grandsons, Braden Banicki, Morgan Banicki, Chase Banicki and Tyler Guzikowski, his great grandchildren, Aria Kolberg & Cadence Kolberg, his brothers & sister-in-law, Ray & Sherri Banicki and James Banicki all of Manistee, MI, his sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law,  Juanita & Tom Guenthardt and Rena & David O'Brien and his brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Steve and Tracey Tomaszewski, Michael & Tammy Tomaszewski and Paul Tomaszewski & Shelia all of Manistee, MI.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dani Banicki, his grandson Mat Kolberg, his parents Raymond & Marie (Jorgensen) Banicki, his father-in-law & mother-in-law Frank "Bud" & Lorraine "Lori" (Schulski) Tomaszewski, and his brother in-law, Rick Tomaszewski.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee, with Reverend Liz Hoy officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Herbert Funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
