Sharon Diane Morris age 76 of Wellston, Michigan died at her home on Sunday, "Mother's Day", May 14, 2017 after a long illness. She was born on July 17, 1940 in Brighton Township, Michigan and was the daughter of the late Harold and Clara (Wingate) Hayner. She was a graduate of Clinton High School, in Clinton, Michigan with the Class of 1958. Sharon married Jimmy D. Morris on November 15, 1958 in Clinton, Michigan. They spent most of their life in Ypsilanti, Michigan until moving to the Wellston area in January of 1993, after Jimmy's retirement. She was an accomplished seamstress and also enjoyed making quilts as her favorite past-time.

She is survived by her husband of over 58 years; Jimmy D. Morris, her daughter and son in-law; Joan and Mike Cooley, two sons and a daughter in-law, James Morris and Frank and Jennifer Morris, seven grandchildren and fourteen great – grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers in-law, Naomi and Roy Black, Kitty and David Richards and Karen Richards. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

Sharon was also preceded in death by her brother Clyde Hayner.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at the Herbert Funeral home in Manistee with Mark Obrien, the Spiritual Care Advisor with Hospice of Michigan, officiating. Burial will follow at the Eden Township Cemetery near Irons, Michigan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday morning, two hours prior to the funeral service at 12:00 Noon.
