Steven M. Slebodnik, age 40 of Manistee, died at his home on Saturday, January 3, 2015.
He was born September 12, 1974 in Garden City, MI, son of James Slebodnik and Cynthia (Bluys) Schlenker. He was a graduate of Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, North Carolina with the class of 1992. Steve had a passion for adventure and lust for life. He loved traveling and was extremely enthusiastic about skateboarding and also loved fishing off the Manistee piers of Lake Michigan. Steve had a huge heart and was always looking for ways to make those around him happier.
He is survived by his mother, Cynthia Schlenker of Manistee, MI, his father James (Nancy) Slebodnik of Barrington, MI; his brother, Jim and sister, Kristine and his niece Madeleine. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive him.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee with Pastor Dave Selleck officiating. The family will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service of celebration to welcome and receive friends.
