Terrance Lee Hollister, age 60, died peacefully and in his own home on Friday, December 22, 2017. His daughter, son-in-law, and best friend were there to comfort and care for Terry in his last days (with the assistance of Hospice of Michigan) after a recent fight with cancer.

Terry was born in Shelby, Michigan to Robert and Carol (English) Hollister. He was the youngest of two children. Debra (Hollister) Lake, his older sister, passed away a few years ago, as did their parents. Terry was raised in Shelby and graduated from Shelby High School in 1975. He went on to become a plumber, mason, and handyman. He also liked to tinker with motors, helping anyone who asked about any of those things. Terry will be remembered for his willingness to lend a hand and share a laugh and a cold beer. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and his dogs. He loved his family more than anything.

He is survived by his daughter Andrea Mokma (Hollister) and son-in-law Jeff Mokma, his three grandchildren, a nephew Josh Sanford, and niece Logan Hurst (Sanford).  His best friend, jerry Mills also survives him.

There will be an open house celebration of Terry's life on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 12 noon until 3pm at the Civic Club where Terry was a member. Address is 671 Mee St., Manistee, MI 49660. A chili buffet luncheon will be provided and a dish to pass would be appreciatively accepted. All are welcome.
